Update Report
Instructions
This report is a tool to gather progress information reflecting the current
status of the project. This information will be used to update the schedule
and forecast project completion. The following definitions should help you to
complete this form.

(1) Data Date
The Data Date is the date the information is gathered and should be noted on
the top of the update report. This date will be used to calculate the remaining
work and forecast completion.
(2) Actual Start Date
If an activity has started, then enter the actual start date in this column.
If a date is already in fhe Actual Start Date column for this acitivity then
the start date has been previously provided.
If the activity has not started, then leave that Actual Start Date column blank.
The original logic within the schedule will push this activity to the correct
start date.
(3) Actual Finish Date
If the activity has completed, then enter the actual finish date in this column.
If an activity has started but not completed you can predict a completion date
or use remaining duration described below.
(4) Remaining Days
If the activity has started, but is not complete, then enter the remaining work
days it will take to complete this activity in the Remaining Days column. Work
days are to be counted from the Data Date.
Important: If you refer to the update form often you will see how you are doing
against your plan and the actual dates will be easier to fill in. Accurate and
complete update information will produce a schedule update that is a good picture
of where you are and forecast where you are going.
